About the event
Ray Cashman is a true blues artist who writes and presents his own music. Although he has achieved worldwide recognition with his music being played on radio stations globally, he returned to his roots in Southeastern Texas. The music scene in this region is called gulf coast gumbo and is a mixture of several regional influences from the past and present. His music has been featured in various productions such as the NBC sitcom "Council Of Dads" and the movie "The Good House" starring Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline. His 2007 album "Texassippi Stomp," which featured Jimbo Mathus, was widely praised and placed on a number of critics' year-end best-of lists for blues recordings. Cashman has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, performing at notable festivals such as SXSW in Texas and the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Arkansas. He has released eight full albums to date, with the latest being 2020's highly praised "Palmetto & Pine." Despite spending over 20 years living in music cities such as Austin and Nashville, Cashman now resides in the Sam Houston National Forest just outside of Montgomery, TX.
